The Strategic Planning and Financial Services division is responsible for making financial services the driving force behind Alberta’s economic diversification and growth. The Strategic Planning & Financial Services Division serves the Ministries of Service Alberta & Red Tape Reduction and Technology & Innovation.

This position is critical for maintaining the integrity of the Business Partner (BP) Master Data. It is essential the information entered is accurate, as there are significant legal and political implications surrounding the volume and nature of BP's used by the GOA.


All functions within 1GX begin with a BP and its master data. This position requires highly developed analytical and research skills, critical thinking, excellent attention to detail and a significant level of expertise in communication.


You will report to the Business Partner Management (BPM) Team Lead, and be responsible for reviewing, authenticating, and completing all Business Partner (BP) requests from internal customers and vendors on behalf of GOA Ministries.

The main responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to):


  • New Business Partner Set-Ups
  • Collecting information via email and forms (from the 1GX AP - Business Partner Folder)
  • Research, analysis and verification of all information provided by the Ministry
  • Submitting BP Request for review and confirmation
  • Maintaining Business Partner Changes
  • Investigation of Business Partner Data and Accounts Payable Payments
  • Notice of Change from the bank
  • Monitoring the 1GX Business Partner General Inquiries In-box
  • Respond to phone or email requests
  • Consistently monitor 1GX to ensure functionality issues associated with business partner management are captured and resolved.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:


  • A high level of innovation, discretion, creative problem solving, independent research skills, and an ability to identify implications, define issues and develop strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills across all GoA ministries
  • Ability to work independently to set priorities in accordance with position deliverables and deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills are a requirement
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable requirements and principles
  • Ability to extract and gather relevant information and assess needs
  • Provide information to explain procedures, processes, programs and legislation to co-workers and ministry clients
  • Ability to work diligently and independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications

Minimum of a High School Diploma and 3 years of directly related experience is required.


The following will be considered assets:



  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience providing customer service
  • Knowledge of 1GX
  • Basic knowledge of MS Outlook (scheduling), Excel (formulas and editing) and Word (editing and preparing letters)
  • Knowledge of basic Accounting practices (Accounts Payable, month end)
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information

Salary

$1,884.99 to $2,307.87 bi-weekly. ($49,198 - $60,235 / year)
